Pets need donations due to floods
June 16th, 2008 Posted in Pets GuideThe recent floods in Indiana have affected not only the human population, but have also taken a massive toll on animal shelters and animal rescue groups.
In a coordinated effort to help relieve the devastating effect that the flood waters have had on the Brown County Humane Society (BCHS) and Morgan County Humane Society (MCHS), Indianapolis Animal Care and Control (IACC) in partnership with local Pet Supplies Plus stores are collecting much-needed items to send to these two shelters. This donation drive will run through June 21.
The following items have been requested by BCHS and MCHS, and can be dropped off at any Pet Supplies Plus location, or at Animal Care and Control at 2600 S.Harding St.
All donations from the Pet Supplies Plus stores will be taken to IACC. Donations will then be delivered by IACC to the BCHS and MCHS as they begin to recover from this disaster. Some of the animals are currently residing in foster homes until these shelters can be cleaned and repaired, although many remain on these flooded shelter properties. IACC and Pet Supplies Plus are inviting the Indianapolis animal-loving public to help BCHS and MCHS and ensure the safety and security of the animals in their care.
